Transmission Electron Micrograph of finely dispersed INSITU formed metal nanoparticles (2-5nm) in coatings.

Anti-Reflective Coating

Topasol's LG 651 low gloss coating additive was developed for UV coatings. It is a a low viscosity liquid silica precursor that upon UV cure of the coating forms micro- to nano-sized silica particles in-situ of the coating. These particles pattern the surface to sharply reduce the gloss of the coating, from a typical starting value of greater than 90 gloss units for the coating with no additive to as low as 8 gloss units for the final coating with LG 651.
